What Do You Plan To Do After College? How Do You Plan To Use The Internet?

            My plans for the future entail me working for the government as a homicide detective and utilizing every tool that I can to help me to be a successful detective. Homicide detectives have a job that includes investigating murders and finding those responsible as well as the story that may go along with the victim’s death. They help society to put away those who are harmful, and they help the families of the victims by giving them answers as to how and why they lost what they loved. In the past, this occupation had to be done without the technological advances of today, for example, cell phones, tablets, laptops, and most importantly; the internet. When my goals are achieved and I pursue my career as a homicide detective, the internet will be my best and most utilized weapon. Databases used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other federal and government run organizations used to solve crime and other conflicts, hold the information that could be the key to solving any kind of crime. For example, the internet holds public record, which includes records of law court proceedings. If a detective, like myself, was able to see these records and have them on hand and easily accessible, as the internet provides, then we could see convicted criminals who have the history of committing homicide, and have the ability to begin our investigations with much more assertiveness than before.

            The internet also allows detectives to further their research on topics and events correlated to the crime that they are investigating in which they previously may not have had much in depth knowledge, or fully understood the concept. The internet is limitless and full of information that you can click and search and be transported to; which a good detective would take full advantage of.

            Many programs are used by detectives and their team of investigators to process information related to the committed crime and helps their investigations; the internet is the tool that helps the team to achieve these tasks needed to get the job done.             Homicide detectives have a very difficult job in which they must solve complex problems and give people life changing answers for the benefit of society. Detectives have found keys to the past, and had a much more difficult time in finding answers without the internet at their side, as was their difficult task in the beginning. Detectives now have the advantage of the internet and all that it provides to make them more efficient workers and to allow them to find answers while the answers are still yearned for. The internet stays a detective’s best weapon and will continue to be that way as it progresses in development and relativity for the future.
